Bluey: Squash "Reimagined Dub"

Bluey: Squash "Reimagined Dub"

Project Overview

The Bluey: Squash “Reimagined Dub” Project aims to take the existing episode of the same name and create a unique retelling based on existing elements. The story follows Bandit, his daughters Bluey and Bingo, and his brother Stripe, as Bandit and Stripe have a sibling Squash competition. Bluey and Bingo play along, as the brothers have their little rivalry game, by using their racket cases as controllers. Despite Stripe and Bingo not having the greatest of luck in the first quarter, through determination and positive affirmations they prove to Bluey and Bandit that younger siblings can indeed beat older siblings. Despite this project not allocating monetary value, I am hoping that those interested in Bluey would participate in this very interesting retelling of an episode, based on a universally beloved children’s show. I am pleased to announce that casting for the Bluey: Squash “Reimagined Dub” project has been completed. Thank you all who submitted their auditions and congrats to those who received a role. I will be keeping in contact with the cast via Discord, and will give updates on the official Casting Call Club project page. I will be contacting the voice cast individually this Saturday, June 24th, to go over recording session times and the record session process. As you await these messages, I recommend that you re-watch the episode, “Squash” in the means of getting a better feel for your character, their personality, and their overall vibe. This, I hope, can help you better channel the character when we eventually do our recording session. I look forward to working with you all!

Bluey is a six year old Blue Heeler and is one of the main subjects of the titular television show of which the name is based on. Despite her being originally Australian, this is not a requirement when auditioning. As for this reimagined dub, I am looking for someone who can bring new life to the character with an emphasis on childlike energy and buoyancy, with a tinge of naivety and sympathy. Feel free to use this space to your liking with these implemented notions in a creative manner when submitting your audition. • Big sisters always beat little sisters. That's just the way it goes! (Energetically prideful)

  • Dad, can you please let Uncle Stripe when the next Squash? I don't think Bingo's having any fun. (Sympathetically, but hopeful)

  • What? How very dare you?! (In shock / Frustratedly)

Bingo is a 4 year old Red Heeler, who is Bluey’s sister in the show. Despite her role being originally Australian, it will not be a requirement when auditioning for her character. For this reimagined dub, I am looking for someone who can breathe new life into the character, with an emphasis on childlike positivity no matter how bleak things may be at the moment. However, is also not afraid to express their sadness in a given turnaround of events. Stripe is a middle-aged Heeler who is the brother of Bandit, and the uncle of both Bluey and Bingo. While the original role was done in an Australian accent, this will not be a requirement when auditioning. For this reimagined dub, I am looking for someone who can breathe new life into the character, with an emphasis on a semi-hopeless line delivery, with a tinge of confidence and a hopeful obligation to try their best.
