Casting Call for "Crimson Resolve" | Project Mokyuu: Magia Record English Fandub

Project Overview

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story is a mobile game spin-off of the critically acclaimed 2011 dark magical girl anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Project Mokyuu aims to produce a high-quality English fan-dub for Magia Record’s Arc 2 content, which will likely never receive an official English translation. 

This project does not generate any revenues in order to avoid copyright concerns. Thus, unfortunately due to the nature of our project, we are unable to provide monetary compensation.

This casting call is for the cast of the event "Crimson Resolve"

While the Magical Girls of Kamihama City were fighting the cult known as the Wings of the Magius, Magical Girls in other cities also faced dire circumstances…

In Futatsugi City, the discovery of the truth behind Magical Girls’ fates has led to a harsh dog-eat-dog conflict between gangs of Magical Girls fighting over territory and the dwindling supply of Grief Seeds. Can they end the war before they wipe themselves out? And what will happen when they discover the true reason behind the their situation?

Please note that due to the large number of voice actors needed for minor characters in this event, we encourage all VAs that can to also audition for minor roles.

The named characters in this casting call will reappear in the main story of Magia Record. So, if you are casted for any of these roles, please be aware that voicing a character is a long-term commitment. You will be expected to be on-call for any content in which your character appears. In short, before joining Project Mokyuu, be sure that you have the commitment and responsibility for the role.



If you are selected and accept the role as a named character, you are obligating yourself to a long-term commitment to be this character's voice actor. 

Project Mokyuu tries to respect your time and is willing to accommodate VAs when/if life circumstances arise.

The deadline for auditions is April 7th. Casting decisions will be made public approximately a week after auditions close.

Even if you weren’t cast in this particular event, if we like your audition, we may reach out to you to offer you the opportunity to join our community for opportunities to audition for other characters in the future.

  • Cast Announcement will be coming in a few days!

    Just wanted to let everyone following this project know that casting decisions will be made public in a few days! For this audition cycle, we wanted to try out a new system of callbacks, where we don't cast immediately if we have any doubts and instead narrow down our selections and send additional lines to our top choices to read. This allows us to further assess the ability of the voice actors by giving more specific direction in order to see who is the best choice for the role. Unfortunately, this takes a bit of time.     Hello, applicants! Thank you all so much for your interest in our casting call.
    While we have had some issues with CCC's deadline functionality, we would like to remind everyone that the deadline shown in the casting call description as well as our advertising is and always has been April 7th at 11:59 PST. Due to these technical issues with the site allowing people to continue to submit auditions past this deadline, we are sorry to announce that we will not be able to cast any late applicants in main (named) character roles. However, those who have applied late will still be considered for one of our many NPC roles.

She has an old grudge against Yuna and dreams of a rematch between the two of them.

She is currently undercover in the Magical Girl gang known as Janomiya, where she quickly develops a desire to help the younger Magical Girls. While kind, Hikaru is willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure Yuna’s victory and peace in the city, even if that means killing her own friends. She’s a passionate young girl with the tenacity of a soldier. She’s cheerful and a positive influence to those around her and will do everything within her power to protect those she truly cares for.

Supporting | An avid gamer, Ranka is one of Juri’s lieutenants in the Magical Girl gang known as Ryuugasaki. A little rough around the edges, Ranka sometimes has a hard time getting along with others. Ranka used to be second in command in Mozenbashi, a gang that stole Grief Seeds and abused younger Magical Girls. She feels guilty about her history and is willing to do anything to try and atone for the past.
